Lexus ES 300 Passenger Door Replacement

I was recently in an accident that involved getting my right door smashed. The issue is that I let a friend drive the car and she was not covered under my insurance - Anyone have any recommendations of getting the cheapest price? My guess (I have just started trying to figure out what to do) is that this door will need to be replaced - Are there used Lexus parts (I know an entire door will be difficult to find) websites/dealers that sell stuff like this? I've never been in an accident, so I don't know what the usual thing to do (Like pounding it back out? Paint? Etc....) Thanks for any help! Please email me directly at Lexus(NoSpam)@TheVanMusic.com thanks!

1) If you push the issue. The driver is covered no matter what is said.

2) Cheap fix is have a body man pop it back out and flush it up and repaint it. $200.00 or $300.00 .

3) Buy a new Skin for the door and paint it. $500.00 to $800.00 .

4) Buy a new Door $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 and paint it.

These price might be low or high but it's prices around here to get a Lexus fixed. The prices for after market and original parts are not much difference these days. Now they have salvage part that go for a who lot less but you will have to check to see. A good Body man can tell you everything there is to know about fixing the door.

Go down to your local body shop and tell them to give you a price on fixing it as is or maybe put a new skin on it and paint it. Skin mean you buy the total outside of the door to mig it back on or in some cases glue it back on.

If you want to discuss it . E-mail me and we can talk about it. A Good friend of mine rebuiulds cars and truck and can get any info you want for these repairs. Now remember this if you don't do the wortk yourself. It is going to not do much gfood in finding out what something cost or where to get the parts for the body man that has to do the job is not going to like to let you supply after market parts that may have difference problem when putting them on with and would cost you about the same to let him get what parts he wants.

  1. Get your "friend" to handle this. She drove the car, she should pay for it.
  2. Go to a reputable body shop. Get the door checked. It's almost always going to be cheaper to repair the existing door (if the damage isn't severe) than replacing it.
  3. I can't believe the driver wasn't covered under your policy, (unless she's not legally licensed to operate a motor vehicle). Does she have insurance? If so, her policy should cover it as well.

The Statement above bears repeating.

I got into it with State Farm over a boyfriend of my daughter who run over a tree with my truck in the yard backing out. They said he was not a listed driver and they did not have to pay. My Attorney sent them a certified letter and Wamoo all of a sudden it was covered.

There is only one reason a insurance company can claim none responciability and that is if the ''''' owner of the auto -- only ''''''' is involved in running from a police. If the auto is damaged during the run from them. Your policy is void. This come under self-distruction of the auto like you drove it off into the river and knew you was doing so.

Now if the girl did not have driver licences. You just claim unarthorized use. This let's you off the hook for the insurance not paying for it.

It is just funny the insurance company claiming non-responciability in matter like this.

..agreed. For some reason, I get this sneaky suspicion we're not hearing the whole story here.

This is Turtle.

A third Accident or a combination of speeding tickets there of gets you a doubling of what you pay in insurance on the auto. Reporting a third one would cost you as much as $1,000.00 a year for the next 3 years.

It's got to be more to it here as you say.
