Lexus dealer charges at least $1200 with new water pump.

Unless the water pump is hooked up to some sophisticated Lexus automobile main computer to automatically regulate the flow of water based on the driver's previous driving habits, stored in a $1600 chip.

And you need to step on the accelerator and the brake pedals a certain number of times within a certain timeframe with the glove-compartment door and the trunk open before the Lexus computer will disarm itself and let you work on the t-stat, or something like that. :)
