I am now the proud owner of the service manuals!
I can't remember who told me about the waterlogged fuel filter causing a code 25 but....THANK YOU!
While reading the manual (Yes...reading) I discovered that the fuel pump has 2 speeds. After a couple weeks of lingering, I realized that every time the engine light popped on it was when I was around 40-45 MPH and either decelerated or accelerated slightly. The other times were from takeoff from idle.
Fuel filter wasn't quite due for replacement but...
The combination of a slightly plugged fuel filter and the ECU controlled speed change of the fuel pump was starving the engine of fuel briefly...just long enough for the code 25: Lean Condition
Fuel pump cutoff (low speed) 1400 rpm Fuel pump return (high speed) 1800 rpm
This makes fuel filter replacement on a regular basis essential. I'm a stickler for maintenance, ahead of schedules, but I got some crappy fuel from somewhere and thats all it took. Fuel filter had around 15,000 miles on it. I guess it was due...
Thanks for all your help!
