used LS vs. GS

I've been looking for an older ('91-95 or so) LS. I know these are great cars, and will go 250-300k miles if cared for. But higher gas prices have got me thinking about a GS, and a colleague has a '95 with about 130k miles on it. It seems to be in very good shape and well maintained, but I'm a little nervous about the mileage. 130k wouldn't be that much for an LS, but I'm wondering if a GS is likely to hold up as well. I'd look for newer/lower mileage, but this is a second car and I'm trying to keep the price down.

We have a 2000 ES, a 1994 GS and a 2002 LS.

The ES is my wifes, The GS is our daughers The LS is mine (snort)

The GS has over 220,000 miles on it and besides normal items that need to be replaced at that mileage, it runs as well as the day it was built.

As for difference in ride. There's no comparison between the GS and LS.

If you want a cushier ride but don't want to spend the $$ on a GS, get an ES.

Thanks all for your input. For now the decision has been made for me, as the GS I was considering was sold out from under me. So I'll keep looking. There's an elderly (83) friend of the family with a '90 LS with about 23k miles on it that I've got my eye on. Probably has never been over 50 mph. Very nice car, although it is the only one I've ever seen with cloth seats and no sunroof. I'm told I'm first on the list for it when he's done driving, but that could be weeks . . .or years. So I'll keep looking and see what comes along.

what price range are you shopping at? That too might help drive what kind and age of car you're looking for.
