12v diesel pump capacity?

Roughly, what would be the litre per hour of a diesel cars fuel pump?

Just looking for one to pump oil and wondered if one might fit the bill.

Can I also safely assume that they all are continuous rotary pumps, just needing a continuous 12v across them, rather than any being a solenoid type pump?

Would it also be safe to assume that they can also self prime?

Only vaguely relevant data I could find was this:

which quotes 45 *US Gallons/hr* for a performance pump, so it might be reasonable to assume somewhat less than that for a standard one.

There are plenty of portable 12v pumps for diesel or heating oil available from around 60UKP; they have rates of around 50 litres/minute.

Yes to both with my admittedly limited experience.

Thanks, that answers what I wanted to know.

I have just been advised that my HP pump delivers up to 240 litres per hour, so it under bonnet pump must deliver more than that. 6 minutes for 5 gallons would be perfect.
