94 (L) Corsa Stalling & Wont Restart

1.2, pretty sure its a single point injection

car starts and runs fine, however when it gets to 90 deg on the gauge it will stutter and die, it doesn't restart straight away, somewhere between 5 and 15mins. It then restarts and will run as normal.. Note that it doesn't always fail like this, some trips can be undertaken with no problems whatsoever, we've even got it warm, past 100deg and its fine. Similarly the time taken to fail varies, it might be 2mins after reaching 90deg, 10mins or even longer, No problem codes stored. during the "dead time" it will crank over but not fire, cranking it *appears* to make it take longer to restart but this might be a red herring.

Hot weather makes it worse.

Ignition amp and coil repalced with new ones, temp switch also replaced to no avail.

Any ideas ? Anthony Britt maybe ?

This ought to be pretty easy to diagnose. When it cuts out and wont restart you need to establish if there is a spark. If not, go straight to igntion primary switching- i.e. the crank angle sensor, ignition amp, coil. One of these is breaking down due to temperature, and its almost always the CAS. As a check- spray some brake cleaner or non-flammable-ish(!) aerosol over the CAS and try to start again- if it does you have found the problem.

If you do have spark, and the injector is firing, but no fuel coming out, then go straight to the fuel pump relay (these do get hot and any dry joints will cause your symptom)

I'm sure you will find the problem with one of the above.

Yep, inductive, 2 wire component. Look for ~3v AC during cranking, rising to over 100v at high engine speed.

Depending on the exact age of the car, it may not be fitted with a crankshaft position sensor, and may get its RPM signal from the hall sensor in the distributor. Look for a 3 way connector in the bottom of the dizzy. Quite often the connections corrode and give the symptoms you describe.
