99 Vectra erratic idle

Hi all, My 1.8 Vectra has developed an erratic idle which has got progressively worse over the last few weeks. Having done a bit of googling it would seem that the most likely cause is a problem with the idle bits in the throttle body, although any other suggestions would be good :).

This morning I removed the air intake to get a closer look at the throttle body, which unfortunatly does not seem to bear any resemblance to what is described in the Simtec section of the Haynes manual. My throttle body does not have seem to have a detachable idle speed stepper motor. The manual does say that some models were fly by wire, and that the throttle body is one unit in that case. Is it possible that I some sort of hybrid between the fly by wire and non fly by wire systems? The part number on the body is GM 90536084.

I can remove the whole throttle body, but I am reluctant to do so if I cannot get at the necessary bits to clean.

Any suggestions about anything else to look at would be useful :).

Thanks

Jonathan
