Original post. "2000 Corolla. 3 months out of waranty, and the a/c dash button has disappeared into the bowels of the front console. Looks like the dash needs to be removed. A helluva job by the looks of it. Anyone know of an easier way to recover the switch?"
Toyota garage reported that Toyota were not interested as it was out of warranty. Dealer fixed it for free. "As a good will gesture to a good customer" Wifes car. Serviced and maintained by them from new.
My comment is that if they had tried to charge, Toyota's head office would have had a battle on their hands. Failures like this can hardly be put down to 'fair wear and tear' Mike.
