alternate flashing lights

Hi I have an ex AA van and i carry out emergancy work. at the rear of the van are two orange lights (indicators). they were wired to flash alternatly using two flasher units. One of the flasher units has two pins and the other (marked as ford), has five. All the wiring has come appart and I wish to put it back to correct working order. Can anyone help? Please email me with a wiring diagram. Many thanks Mark.

Chances of getting an original wiring diagram are somewhere between slim and nil. I struggle to get wiring diagrams for their current vehicles, and I've got to sort them.

But going from your description, it sounds similar to what's used on some of there older lorries. The two pin unit will be a flasher unit, and the 5 pin unit will be a five pin relay. One light, and the relay coil will be connected to the flasher unit. The other light will be connected to normally closed contact of the relay. Then both the flasher unit, and the relay will be powered from the switch controlling the alternate flashing lights.

If you want a sketch, drop me an email to mtb-rules hotmail.co.uk, and I'll make one up for you.
