Hi, just purchased a Renault Clio 1.2 RN GRANDE just wondering if anybody knows when the belts need changing. its a 1998 model so its nowhere near being new. just wondering if its worth me chancing the belt. SB
every 5 years or 72k whichever is first, breakage means scrap the car, it is only an hour or so to do
If you have purchased an older car and you're not sure when the cambelt was last changed, change it anyway and then you can be confident that it has actually been done.
If you're unsure of the cars history, get it changed as a matter of priority.
