Cutting tyres

What's the best method for cutting tyres off a wheel?

Angle grinder with a metal blade or something else?

Well, a tyre lever, or I find the easiest way is to take them to the local tyre place when it's quite and slip them a couple of quid cash..

remove the tyre by breaking the bead and using tyre levers. domestic bead breaking can be done either with a suitable lever system (I made up a wooden thing that hooked into a mount on a wall and that worked fine) or use the weight of the car, or a very large vice . Most people want new tyres fitted to the wheels, so it is uncommon to just want the tyres off without replacement. An angle grinder will wreck the wheels and be extremely difficult/dangerous to do the job with.

I had all 4 tyres taken off my MX5, and put on the other way around (so I can balance out track day wear) for 20 quid.

MX5s are very light and well balanced, my Cinquecento used to wear tyres faster.
