Fiat Cinquecento Sporting idling issue

hello everyone im new here, im not going to give you my life story im gonna get straight to business!!

i boutght a fiat cinquecento sporting the other day and it ran a little rough on tickover i just put it down to the air filter being blocked.... i looked it was fine!! but when i looked towards the back of the air box i saw a mayonaise type substance that on further investigation smelt like engine oil it was an off yellowish white colour i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and managed to rectify it

the car is fine when driving but on tick over the exhaust sounds like its only firing on 3 (the engine doesnt reflect this) and sometimes theres "steam" like what u get on a cold morning but its there when the engine is hot i took the coolant cap off when the engine was running and the level rises and overflows what could this be?

Head gasket is kapoot. Don't buy a car youself next time if you don't have a clue what you're doing. Sell it ASAP.

Knackered head gasket. Welcome to Fiat quality. (Fix It Again Tomorrow)

Put it in a scrap yard where it belongs.

Or prepare to pay a garage at least £300 to repair it.

goodjob i did my homework on this one boys phoned the dealer who sold it me its been owned by 2 women chances are never had an oil change since it was last serviced 20000 miles ago the coolant issue is an air block in the system. rocker breather pipe fully clogged with mayonaise affecting breathing coinsidentally probably wont need a rocker gasket let alone a head gasket

I would be surprised if the dealer had the paperwork going back that stated the previous-previous owner happened to be a lady, and whether or not an oil change had been done.

A good rule of thumb/pinky is to take anything a dealer says with a pinch of salt. Get rid of it, get one that has no problems, end of story.
