The temperature warning light on a Fiesta 1.3 (they couldn't afford a real temp. gauge), has decided to come on intermittently. Sometimes it only comes on with the ignition and then goes off when tne engine starts (as it should) but sometimes it flashes on/off for a couple of seconds. There is no sign of the car overheating and the coolant is up to the mark, is holding pressure and no leaks. Is this perhaps just a faulty sensor (gawd knows where it is), or maybe a fault on the intrument panel? btw is it intended to show high temp - or low coolant resulting in high temp - or something else :-)
