Ford cruise control fire problem

Apparently there is an issue with fires in ford vehicles being caused by the deactivation switch for cruise control. This seems to be related to the switch, which is always active, being near the brakes with the brake fluid causing the fires. If you go to

It's a Simpsons gag.

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive, smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down, It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

Canyonero! (Yah!) Canyonero! [Krusty:] Hey Hey

The Federal Highway comission has ruled the Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving.

Canyonero!

12 yards long, 2 lanes wide, 65 tons of American Pride!

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Top of the line in utility sports, Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!

Canyonero! Canyonero! (Yah!)

She blinds everybody with her super high beams, She's a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine!

Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)

Drive Canyonero!

Woah Canyonero!

Woah!

comes up in at least 2 episodes, I think - the Simpsons buy an SUV at one point and Marge gets road rage, plus the one you mentioned with Krusty selling out. Not sure whether that's after another Krusty Komedy Klassic though...

That's where I know the name from :-)

My other favourite is the Ford Pinto. You'd think they'd learn from their mistakes.

Ah, the joys of a $2 cap to go over the studs on the diff housing. Amazingly scary story to read - but the one thing I never really got was the revulsion at Ford putting a monetary value on each life. Goverments do that sort of thing all the time, and allow other orgainisations like airlines and healthcare systems to do it too.

Then again - GM had their share of cockups - this one

caused 20x as many deaths as the Pinto.
