Girling De Carbon shock absorbers - where . . .

Hello, can anyone help. I have a pair of shock absorbers requiring replacement and the various parts books of other manufacturers don't list comparatives.

The units in question are marked Girling DeCarbon and bear the number

6 4052448C. They are about 9.75 inch long cylinders with an eye at the top and a pin / stud at the bottom. They mount with the cylinder bottom most and a plastic shround above.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a stockist - or even an equivalent made by another maker I be very, very happy and relived!

Regret have no idea what vehicles these were used on as the ones I have to replace are on an elderly but well made and useful trailer.

Thanks if you can help! Lurch

Not sure about car or trailer shocks but the whole Girling motorcycle shock operation was sold to Hagon Products.

Renault used DeCarbon shocks similar to those that you describe on the rear end of Renault 5s, 11s etc.- if that helps you track down replacements?

Rich.
