Am i correct in thinking that the Lambda sensor goes into the Catalytic converter. One more thing is the Lamda sensor sometimes called the Oxygen/O2 sensor?
Thanks in adance

Yes, ish. It actually goes just before the catalytic converter "brick"; either in the pipe leading to it or at the front end of the canister holding the catalyst. Newer vehicles also have a second sensor, either just after the catalyst or in the middle of it, mostly to check catalyst effectiveness.
Yes. The sensor actually measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, which is a good guide to the air/fuel ratio (lambda)
