pug 307, brake squeal after turning but not touching brakes

weird one,

my brothers pug 307, top of the range diesel, 07 reg i think, got discs all round,

when he turns into a parking space, as he straightens the wheels up, and moves forwards, he gets a really loud squeal from the front off side brake,

but he hasnt touched the brake pedal except to slow down before making the turn,

i've checked the flexi pipe isnt getting pinched or owt, but it's routed properly, afaik this car does not have that hill start brake holding thingy, but even if it had, he's not come to a stop, so it shouldent have been active anyways,

it is just as if you have squeaky brakes, and it lasts a mere second, it might not even be the brakes, but it sure sounds like it,

any ideas what else to check? the cv boot is fine, no clonking or rumbeling at all,

you can check the wear of the rotors and pads through the mag spokes = problem could be there.??

they seem to be fine, absolutely no squealing when braking normaly,

which has made me think, could it be the power steering? it's after he's gone full lock to swing into a parking space, and is straightening up that it happens, wondering if the rack is binding or something, causing the belt to slip, hence the squeal,

tho dont modern cars have electric power steering? either an electric hyraulic pump, or electric rack assistance?

thinking.... could it be the pump squealing in protest as it jams or something, or if electric, the alternator belt thats squealing due to the suddent demand for tons of power.
