I'd always use NGK, but I am unconvinced that any of the go-faster- spark stuff has any point at all for normal cars.

The Real Doctor gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:
Indeed. Assuming the correct heat range, it's either misfiring or it's not...
OTOH, some plug technologies can give a significantly longer plug life - useful if they're a right bugger to change.
Definitely not worth paying extra for, they don't last any longer and do nothing for performance or economy. You might read some wild advertising claims which can't be proved - or people who have wasted their money saying they are brilliant because they feel stupid. They usually say something vague like "increased reliability" or "longer life" - all of which is crap. You're better going to your local dealer and buying the ones meant for the car. With four "earth" electrodes you can't guarantee which one will be used or wear out first. It's usually the middle one connected to the HT lead that wears down first, so four earth ones will not prolong the life. If you learn to see through wild advertising claims you will be OK. Just don't go buying SLICK50 to go with them. Main dealers are often a lot cheaper and you get the proper component. I had the same spark plugs in one car for
6 years and 75,000miles. The main dealer put new ones in and it wasn't any different!
Well you'd want to change them before they start misfiring, they're a lot cheaper than a cat.
