Not my car.. asking for a friend.
Near the end of the production runs of ROVER 25 and MG ZR (as part of the so called 'facelift') some modification were made to their electrics which do not appear in Haynes or the Rover/MG CD manuals available.
My interest is in the central locking changes. A third button was added to the key fob, in about 2003, controlling the tailgate release. This change was not well thought through as the fob offers the only way to open the tail gate (short of a crow bar - and that's going a bit far when the fob battery has gone!).
My objective is to put a switch in the passenger compartment to activate the tailgate release manually. I can/will of course, do some circuit tracing by inspection but 'official gen' would be less hazardous!
Any enthusiast out there with appropriate diagram/advice? Thanks.
