Tucson 4WD?

A friend has a Hyundai Tuscon and she's been told that if you drive more than 20 miles in 4WD it cuts out to 2WD. Is this a fact and if so why?

I don't know about whether it is true or not, but probable reason if true is that one or more diff will get too hot if driving on good grip surfaces. Old Land rovers for instance should not be kept in FWD on good grip surfaces since they have no centre differential and you get wind up of halfshafts and things break, whereas on a loose surface the wheels can spin as needed to release the wind up.

Yes, that sounds like it.
