Vectra front fog lights

Does anyone know where to find the front fog light wiring connectors for retro fitting the fog lights. I have changed the light switch to suit and plugged in th fuse and the relay which is working but i cannot trace any wires in the front bumper area. The car is a v reg LS diesel hatch. Thanks in advance

If the front fog lamp wiring is present in the loom, then unused connectors and wire tails are usually taped or cable tied back along the loom going to the headlamps and indicators on the inner wing panel.

If you cannot find these wires, then the front fog wiring must only be present in the dash loom. Unfortunately, this means picking up the wiring at the body loom connector which is behind the passenger side kick panel (footwell) and running wiring yourself to the front bumper.

This seems to be becoming the norm for this news group. You ask a straight question about a problem and everyone starts slagging you off. I am doing the job for a middle aged mate who unlike many of the chavs out there will only use the lights when it is legal to do so. It would be great if only serious people with sensible answers were allowed on newsgroups like this. It would save the rest of us from sifting through the shit to get to the real experts answers.

It's Usenet and therefore a public forum. Like it or lump it. Mind you the amount of opprobrium heaped upon front fog lights does genuinely reflect their usefulness IMO.

Be nice if only people with a sense of humour posted too :-)

The message from "Malc" contains these words:

The only time I could ever justify front-foglights I decided it was too sodding foggy to drive anyway.

On a similar note I always understood the correct use of front fogs (in fog) was without headlamps. Certainly on my old 306, sidelamps and front fogs were useful in foggy conditions with a good low spread of light to highlight the kerbs and get under the haze. On my commute from Evesham to Basingstoke this morning on the foggy A417 in the 206, the front fogs were dire used like this. No useable light output at all. I gave up, switched them off and went back to dipped beam.

I've got a sense of humour ok and i have a car with fog lights that have never been on in the three years since i got it and i agree that they are a waste of time in the fog anyway and i also feel like choking all the mostly boy and girl racers that drive with them on all the time and i feel that a fog light camera would be more use than a speed camera for raising revenue and it would allow us all to drive at a more reasonable speed ( when ciecumstances allow of course ) and just to prove i am human and have a sense of humour i have to stop for breath as youll notice this is the only full stop in this post.
