Volvo 460 immobiliser problem

My wife left the headlights on all day and flattened the battery completely. Both the rescue service and the garage have been unable to start the car since the battery was recharged. There's no spark, and I'm also told the fuel flow is cut off.

We have an immobilser, and the key for it, but apparently its not the original factory fitted one. We don't have a key or remote for that (they weren't supplied when we bought the car second-hand), and the garage reckon the original immobiliser has kicked in. A local Volvo garage don't want to know, so we're stuck : (

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
