VW How to reset "service due' message?

Our recently purchased VolkWagen Bora (same as Golf) has been serviced by me (ie, plugs, oil, etc). I do not know how to reset the message that appears in the dash. Do I really have to take it to a dealer/service agent to kill this message? Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.

Vag-Com is your friend. or you can buy a reset tool, but if you're going to keep it then ther former will pay for itself.

For a Vauxhall Zafira you press the trip meter reset whilst starting the engine. Hold it a couple more seconds and it gets rid of the 'INSP' message.

May be similar- but probably not the same :-(

Depends on the year, if it's a 2000 then press the right hand button on the dash with the ign switched off, then whilst still holding the button in turn the ignition to on.

The word SERVICE will appear in the display. Release the button.

Turn the left hand button on the display to the right to reset the display.

Turn ignition off.
