Weird problem, possibly shock absorber - tips please

My car (UK spec 1999 Daewoo Nubira 2.0CDX) makes low-pitched squeaky/rubbing noises whenever the front suspension travels a little bit and slowly, for example when slowly climbing a kerb or when softly touching the brakes while rolling slowly (

Shockers can get red hot in use, each time they move oil is pushed through a small valve and back again when it moves the other way, on any road the shockers are moveing thousands of times a minute, (no road is as smooth as you think, you really notice how crap the roads are when your towing something heavy, or have knackered shockers)

you used to be able to get clip on cooling fins for the shockers, before synthetic oils were used shockers could become useless when driven hard for long enough, the oil would go so thin it was like having water for the damping fluid, nowadays better oils mean the shockers can work at higher temperatures with out loosing the viscosity of the oil inside it.

Your shocker could be worn, leaking, water could have got into it thinning the oil out and so on, when were they last changed? they usually have a life of 30 to 50,000 miles, yet people very rarely change them at those mileages, they life a much harder life than some people think, and they wear out gradualy that you don't notice anything is up untill the wheel is bouncing off the road at every imperfection, then fitting new ones transforms the car.

Medallion Man waffled on in a quite bewildering manner to produce...

It's a Daewoo, it's just the sound of passers by giggling.

Weigh it in, or swap it for an Alfa 33 ( and it's not often you'll hear me saying that )
