Clear Wheels

Awww, ya got me all wrong, Pat - It's not that I hate them... It's just that I think they might qualify as the absolute stupidest and most overpriced thing I've ever heard of to hang on a car in the name of "kewlness". I mean, come on... 20 Gs for a set of wheels that you can't possibly drive on without making them look like complete crap? Thanks, but I'd rather spend the $$ on a *COMPLETE CAR* that I *CAN* drive!

The wheels are up there, but I think that this is the number one stupidest and most overpriced thing ever added to any vehicle for any reason.

The target audience isn't gonna drive their Escalades fast enough to heat up the brakes.

One word: Touche

On second thought, another word: BARF!!!!!

No, nobody would be so cruel to the children or the adults as to put such a thing up at Halloween.

Probably very effective for this purpose. Almost as good at drawing them in as a mannequin that looks like their sister.

That is probably the best one.

I just wish that the driver of the SUV had peeled out, there is no telling how many noses and other body parts would come flying off when Mikey hit the ground. It would have been entertaining footage, at the very least.

Actually ......... I like them. For what they are, simply a show car wheel! At a show it's all about doing something that's going to get the crowd excited. I think these will do that! Actually on a bike, they are much more feasible (all things being relative) since you can get to both sides to keep up with the cleaning issue. You see some big ass bike going down the road with no apparent connection between the hub and the rim and you're going to be blown away. They're not sensible but do you think those show-off bikes are?

I think Sbarro's "hubless wheels" ar far cooler than the clear wheel...

True, and I do think they look pretty cool on a bike. I have a friend who custom-builds motorcycles from the frame up and he thought they were cool-looking, but mentioned that a solid wheel would increase the cross-wind effect on the bike. Again, we are talking about show-stuff here, not performance, so I'm not sure how much that would matter. He has a really nice enclosed trailer that holds two motorcycles and I have a feeling that is how a bike equipped with these wheels would do most of its traveling.
