Pardon my Question, But I haven't had a car with an actual OP gauge for many years. I've noticed when driving my '06 MX-5, that when I'm idling at a light, (warmed up) the OP gauge has a tendency to drop to 2 or 3 lines above the low indicator (fat line on left). As soon as I rev the engine or take off from the light, all appears fine. At 35 mph / 2000 rpm, in 4th gear, the gauge indicates "straight up" and actually goes more to the right as I get to higher rpms. The temp gauge is solid in the middle, and the car seems to be running just fine. Is it normal for an OP gauge to move around that much?
