my sisters husband just bought an 87 300E and the underseat vac pump is missing so the door locks dont work.will any gas engine underseat pump work?ebay has a few for less than $50.

Possibly I'm jumping the gun here a bit, but I'd suggest you ask on the Merz forum at http://66.155.125.17/forums/index.php? I find questions answered there a little quicker in coming, here they may not come at all. ;-) Regardless of that numerical DNS it is a valid URL.
And thanks for answering an unasked question of mine. I didn't know that was a vacuum pump, it sounds like one when I adjust the seats, but never took the time to ask anyone.

Sorry I lead you astray with the link to the Merz forums, sometimes they work, sometimes not.
I was talking to a clerk a the dealer the other day about a question I had, that I couldn't understand the Owner's Manual on my 1996 E320. His reply was, "I don't think most people have ever opened their manual. Yours looks brand new. Had the car long?"
I've had it 2 months.
