BILSTEIN STRUTS

Front and rears getting "bangy" over bumps, after 120,000. I am going to replace with Bilstein, but want a more controlled ride What is the firmness scale? Is it comfort, heavy duty, and sport,.. or comfort, sport, and heavy duty? and which was OEM on 1992 190E2.6,? what was the sportline model setup? and are these three the only options................Thanks ...Rick

Bilstein Comforts would be the closest to the OEM struts and shocks, which may have been by Sachs/Boge. The HD is the closest to the Sportline/16 valve units. The Sport shocks are specifically designed for cars with lowering springs, such as H&R or Eibach.

Comfort replaces the o.e. struts and shocks. Heavy duty provides a faster recoil but you'll feel every pebble and crack in the road. Sport model is for use with lowering springs only.
