Is that true that you do not or you can not adjust the idle speed of a diesel engine?
Thanks.

You CAN adjust it but you NEVER should. If you're idle is wrong you need to fix what's wrong with the engine. THen it will idle properly.
Depends on the engine. The 240D and older 300D engines have a dash mounted idle speed adjustment knob - that's in lieu of an internal idle speed governor.
The idle speed can be adjusted but the challenge is to know the engine's true speed so the adjustment is toward its idle speed specification - the dash mounted tach isn't sufficiently accurate.
You don't state a complaint or an engine type so it's difficult to make a constructive suggestion. And incorrect idle speed can mask other issues so be more detailed.
