Internally lubricated?

Are hydraulic lifters, cam shafts, push rods, and valves consider to be "internally lubricated" parts of the engine? The reason I am asking is that I've noticed that my '99 E320 (with 91K miles) has a slight tap when idling. I assume that this is due to one of the items I mentioned above (lifters or camshaft being my first guess) and I still have the car covered under a Starmark warranty that states that "internally lubricated" engine parts are covered. So before I take the car into the dealership I wanted to verify my belief that these are indeed internally lubricated.

push rods? not in a Mercedes engine...

a jammed/faulty hydraulic lifter will cause a tapping sound.

Did you change your oil within the last few day's?

Oil was changed several months ago (Mobile1). But I've noticed this tapping for a while and am finally getting annoyed at it enough to do something about it.

Any ideas on the cost of replacing lifters if I opted to not take it to the dealership?

Take it to a Mercedes specialist.

Yes, it is covered. Get it repaired under Starmark program.

Yea - I brought it in today. And they say that they can't hear it....

Tell them to go get a hearing aid.
