Notice the units(kW and hp) in the previous answers. In fact they are all correct.

The 190 E 2.3-16 existed in three different levels of tune depending on the market and year of production:

Version with catalytic converter:

125 kW (= 170 PS = 167 hp) at 5800 rpm

Version ready to accept a catalytic converter at a later date:

130 kW (= 177 PS = 174 hp) at 5800 rpm

Version without catalytic converter:

136 kW (= 185 PS = 182 hp) at 6200 rpm

Keep the following conversions in mind:

1 kW = 1.36 PS (PS = metric system horsepower unit)

1 kW = 1.34 hp (hp = English system horsepower unit)
