RADIO INTERCHANGEABILITY

DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS OR HOW TO FIND OUT? THE DEALERSHIP NOR THE MERCEDES TECHNICAL HELP LINE DOESN'T. I WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE MY '98 SL CONTROL HEAD AND TRUNK CD CHANGER WITH THOSE FROM A '98 CLK 320. THE PART #
FOR THE CLK IS 003-820-59-86 WHILE THE ONE FOR THE SL IS 003-820-60-86, ONLY ONE DIGIT OFF! MY COMPANY SELLS COMPONENTS TO DAIMLE-CHRYSLER (UNFORTUNATELY NOT RADIOS) AND A PART DIFFERENCE THIS MINOR COULD BE SOMETHING AS FUNCTIONALLY UNIMPORTANT AS AN ASSEMBLY PLANT DESIGNATION OR A LABELING OR PACKAGING DIFFERENCE. THEN AGAIN IT COULD MEAN A CATASTROPHIC DIFFERENCE. ANYONE KNOW? THE SL HAS THE FIBER OPTIC BOSE POWERED SUBWOOFER SYSTEM AS DOES THE CLK. THANKS
