Which C-Klasse Diesel engine to go for??

Hi all,

I just found this group, and think you might have an opinion on this.

I am looking for a used C-Klasse Combi Diesel, but I am not sure which engine is the best choice. Most of the offered cars are 220D, but I heard they often have problems with the fuel pump. The 200D seams to have no specific problems, but that one is very slow. Would that leave the 250D,

250TD and the CDI versions to be the best choice??

Thanks in advance, all replies appreciated!!

Jannes ( I am from the Netherlands by the way )

Eh, OK, but why??

I am looking for the car that is most likely to give me no troubles....

Thanks, Jannes

I can't speak about reliability since the CDI has only been in the US a couple of weeks, but it performs much better than the older diesels

Do you mean it has been there since a few weeks, or it has been there for a couple of weeks and now it isn't anymore??

Performance is not really an issue for me, the 220 already performs good enough for me...

it's only been available for a few weeks, I have one of the first ones and it performs dramatically better than my e 300 diesel, albeit with a bit more fuel consumption
