Like they say "it performs well on the go-cart track". Not my idea of a realistic form of transportation, for a modern day adult.

Yes, great, I want to drive my car in and out of a hangar and round a go kart track - not !

Anyway, Its clarkson ffs, who probably added a ton to the car and knows about as much about cars as I know about quantam physics.

Keep yer bini bashing to your own clique and stop trying to be a wannabe troll.

Keep your shirt on there Brownzie, Clarkson appears to have made a very good living out of "knowing nothing about cars" he said "its a nice car" but "its no icon" and my opinion is, even if you cover it in MINI badges, it still wont have the appeal that the classic mini has, but that's just my opinion, but its still a nice car, Fitzy

............................................................. please read definition, then decide what to label me, Thank you .................................................................................... An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.

Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. Indeed, the greater the suffering they cause, the greater their 'achievement' (as they see it). At the moment, the relative anonymity of the net allows trolls to flourish.

Trolls are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. They cannot be made to feel remorse. For some reason, trolls do not feel they are bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility.

Take off your blinkers captdan, check out my previous postings from the last few years, All you will find is ME giving sound responsible advice to BMW MINI owners, but when I voice my personal opinion, you call me a troll ?? Do some research,,,,,,,, I am also man enough to apologise if I make a mistake or offend anyone in this or any other NG, "are you" Fitzy

You come to this newsgroup and call the BMW mini a BINI and a bad car. If that isn't being a troll, what is? Yes you do give advice, but usually followed by insults. So when are you going to apologize? Please just stay in your own little newsgroup.

Don't know what posts your reading ?? I have never called the BMW version a bad car, and I have always maintained that its a good car, but no icon,, its not a car I would buy, but still a good car, and so are the Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, small 2 door hatchbacks, so my opinion is,, its in the same stable but more expensive to purchase and maintain when compared to similar vehicles produced by European manufacturers, Fitzy

Well, this is a perfect example of why I quit posting, both here and in a.a.mini. Even though I haven't been posting, I have been "lurking". Fitzy, you are 100% correct. I've read your posts and find them to be nothing but useful. As I tried to state in a.a.m., one need not own a particular make and model to be a fan (or to have constructive input to offer).

There have been a few people (who shall remain nameless) who post here with the sole purpose of slamming the MINI (or BINI as they call it). Often, it is an unsolicited statement, offering their opinions as to why the MINI is an "imitation" car, or even stating that they don't like people from a certain country (usually the USA)! What is the point of that other than to "troll"?

And that's not to say that the problem is exclusively in a.a.n-m. In fact, the problem is probably worse in a.a.m. Why, I myself have been accused of being a troll.

Now our good friend Fitzy is being accused of being a troll here. This is a totally unfounded charge. He's always been polite when offering his opinions, and has remained on-topic, or tried to, even when defending himself.

I love my '02 MINI. But I also know that it's not a car for everyone. I can listen to other people's opinions about the car without labeling them a "troll", as long as the opinions are not thrown out with the intention of insulting or "flaming". Fitzy has done neither!

Unfortunately, those who typically scream "TROLL" the loudest are the least civil ones posting. Captdan, please don't think that I am aiming this at you. I'm not trying to take sides in this matter. I would hate to see someone who is contributing useful information in this NG, namely Fitzy, to be undeservedly bashed like I was in a.a.m.

OK, I'm through ranting. I'm going back to lurking now.

The last time you were shaking your head was when you told Mr. Brant that he was in the wrong newsgroup. You are so used to putting down the BMW mini that you tell people in this newsgroup to go elsewhere. As far as rights in this newsgroup, I own a BMW mini, do you? If not, why the hell are you here?
