overcooling and rev problem

Hi Guys,

I have a 99 rover mini cooper 1.3i, quite recently it had an issue starting which eventually turned out to be a relay box which needed replacing. Around this time the radiator fan seemed to be on constantly. Also when stopping at lights for example the revs seem to dip and it is as if the car will stall. The rev fault in particular seems to only kick in after you have been driving for about 10 minutes or so.

I took it into a local garage who could not find any problems and cleaned out the valves in the injection system. The radiator fan now does not come on all the time but does come on when driving. Over the weekend I it noticed it coming on then turning off again. but now it seems once it is on it stays on until the engine has been switched off for a few hours. Could this be a faulty temp sensor or something along those lines? or an ECU issue? I know the weather is really warm at the moment but I don't think the fan should be coming on all the time unless stuck in traffic and not moving on a hot day.

Any advice would be great,

Cheers,

Neil.

I had a problem with the engine loosing power and the fan behaving erratic on my multipoint injection mini.

The dealer replaced the temperature sensor in the thermostat housing and the connector that connects to the temp sensor and al problems are solved.

And they need to reset the ECU and delete the fault-codes that it has stored in its memory.

Hi,

I 'think' that has been done as it has been looked at a few times, but I am not 100%. I have also heard about the temp sensor thing too interesting....
