89 Eagle Vista 1.6L GT Turbo Fuel Injector Needed!

Hello all.

Looked for an eagle newsgroup and this was the closest thing (mitsubishi engine).

My primary fuel injector (K 85-3, brown plastic cap) has failed (verified). Impossible part to find!

Dealer wants $361.00 (Canadian) for it!

Car has 366,000 km and still kicks!

This is my last resort. I hope someone may have one or a lead to one. If I don't find one then the car is done. At that point maybe someone needs it for parts; it would be a waste to give to wreckers.

Please help.

Michael

Thing to do is check what other mitsubishi engine injectors are the same or very similar capacity and flow rate. Look at the 2.0L 4G63 8v (Eagle Vista wagons) for a start. You could also look at the 1.8L Talon (4G37) as your

1.6L engine is a 4G32.

If the Talon parts are the same type, you should be able to get a set from a wrecker for peanuts: they can't give the 4G37's away.

Thanks for the help. I am going to the dealer today to see if these parts are a close enough match and then I will look for wreckers again. Sigh...s

Sorry. Just realized I had the old email address. The new one is as shown (hotmail).

Apologies.

Note: I checked with the dealer and it ends up the original quote of $361.00 (Can) was wrong as they had sourced the wrong injector (fuel rail rather than TBI). The actual injector is $518.00 (Can) and no one in the states or Canada has one. Now I really need help. The car is scrap otherwise and it is working beautiful minus the faulty injector.

Please help. Does anyone know a link or connection to someone/company with old used injectors or a wreckers with this car? Otherwise I am SOL.

Also note: I checked the vista wagon and Talon: they do not match up at all. This 'puppy' is rare!

All help is very much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Definitely do as suggested and see what other cars that engine (and hopefully that injector) came with. It also wouldn't hurt to call RC Engineering or someone to see if they can rebuild the injector. I'm sure an injector specialist could figure something out for a decent price.

At the worst, there's bound to be *some* other injector that will fit, and if they are a different size, you could probably get a used AFC for $100 to correct the air/fuel ratio. It might be worth looking into anyway.

Yeah, you need to find out what other cars the engine was in, cos they might be more common.. especially outside of America. Maybe it's this engine:
