On the rear of my L200, where the tailgate meets the screen, the rubber seal sticks out over 1 inch on each side! Is there any problems trimming this down?

There should be either small clips that hold it into place, or the rubber itself should hold it. Check the corners to see if the rubber has opened up, if you use a pair of pliers to squeeze back together you should be able to with a rubber hammer tap it back into its place.
