Online resources for parts and info on cordia?

Just wanted to ask for any links to online resources for parts, info, etc on the Mitsubishi Cordia. I have an 86 that is in need of a complete overhaul. Just need some place to start since most auto parts stores have never heard of this car before. I really look forward to bringing this car back to life. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

Hi,

I assume you're in America (the default assumption for people who don't mention their country)? It seems Cordias weren't a big hit there. There are a bunch of Australians on

with a good knowledge of fault-finding in these cars, especially the turbo model. If you're considering a complete overhaul, they could also give you some good info on better engines to install. ;)The Haynes manual that covers the Cordia isn't much good because it tries to deal with too many other Mitsubishis at the same time. It's worse if you don't have a US market Cordia too... ;)Through the Yahoo Cordia group and sites like

you might be able to find one or two people who've gone as far as stripping a Cordia for repainting, or who have had to repair or modify various areas of the car. Here in New Zealand, Cordias were pretty common and they're currently at the point where they're wearing out due to neglect and are heading to the wreckers. So if your Cordia needs a little bit, you go to the wreckers. If you need many bits, you buy a parts car or you just buy a different Cordia (they're cheap). I'm in the unfortunate position of just having crashed my Cordia, and although it's in good condition, the first repair estimate I got was more than the car's value. The way to get parts will be to buy another entire car.

Yeah I guess I should have said that I was in the US. Also, I ran my VIN and found out that it is an 85. Thanks for the links. I had already been to the yahoo groups and joined up but, as you said, it is mostly people from NZ and AUS. Really don't know much about this car, it was given to me and on the bill of sale it was written up as a Mitsubishi Mirage! There are no markings on the car at all to distinguish what it truly is. Found out completely by accident when I went looking for a starter. The VIN was written down wrong as well. Been somewhat of a mystery car since I got it. Curious as to how many there were in the US. Thanks for the info.
