what transmission fluid goes in the 1.8 eclipse ?

I have no manual....PLUS the Mitsubishi dealer wants me to "drive it in" LOL they won't know till the look at it.. It looked like gear oil when it came out while changing the clutch.

??? 1.8 automatic ???

a good chance to swap engine and tranny to 2.0 turbo.. ;-)

if manual, I guess it's simply a leakage.. any transmission oil shoud be ok. but take care of gaskets..

What year?

The gear oil I hear the 3rd gen eclipse owners talk about is bg synchroshift. But I've never used it to agree or disagree.

If you can spare the $40, get four quarts of RedLine MTL from

and pick up a $5 siphon pump from Harbor Freight. (check

for a store location near you) or borrow one from somebody.

It's cheaper than paying the stealership and the improvement to the shifting is incredible. We did this with my wife's 1990 Eclipse GS about eight years ago and it still shifts superbly, even with the tapioca synchros the 1G cars were notorious for.
