I have no manual....PLUS the Mitsubishi dealer wants me to "drive it in" LOL they won't know till the look at it.. It looked like gear oil when it came out while changing the clutch.

if manual, I guess it's simply a leakage.. any transmission oil shoud be ok. but take care of gaskets..

The gear oil I hear the 3rd gen eclipse owners talk about is bg synchroshift. But I've never used it to agree or disagree.

It's cheaper than paying the stealership and the improvement to the shifting is incredible. We did this with my wife's 1990 Eclipse GS about eight years ago and it still shifts superbly, even with the tapioca synchros the 1G cars were notorious for.
