98 Accord - Removing the factory fitted stereo

Hi,

Anyone know an easy way to get the factory fitted stereo out of 1998 Honda Accord Coupe

Any help would be much appreciated.

Start at the rear bumper. Remove the tow hook cover, and anything else you fing between you and the engine bay bulkhead.

DANGER DANGER DANGER DANGER DANGER

Watch what you listen to on the net.

Two screws, running vertically underneath the bottom of the radio trim panel.

Now: with a small screwdriver, gently pry out the clock from the bottom. Disconnect it and put it aside. Behind the clock is the ALL IMPORTANT THIRD SCREW. Take it out.

NOW you can pop out the radio trim panel, complete with climate controls. Put a rag or two inside the clock cavity, get your fingers in there as best you can, and yank. It's just pressure clips.

Remember: there are THREE screws, two down below and one up above behind the clock.

High voltage ?

And also what you read.

I think he was working on the basis that it's the same basic car as a Rover 600...

In which case, his instructions were bollocks :)

You have to remove the leccy window switches first. Then take off gearnob, and remove entire centre console (one screw is under the leccy window switches). Once that is out of the way, the centre bit holding the stereo(s) can be removed.
