Heh. A Nexia?

We keep getting offered alloys. I do want some new ones for my Supra - but people keep offering 15 or 14" ones. The Scorpio and Supra both have

16s as standard... and IIRC the Beetle's wheels (which are steel, since it's a bloody Beetle and doesn't need anything fancy) are 16s too.

I'm just teasing, it's not like I used to run around in four year old mid engined sportscars or an Opel Manta when I was at college.

Oh, wait. I did. But I didn't spend money on anything but my X1/9 and other cars and I worked until 5am many nights producing a music mag ;)

I went from 14s to 13s.

Okay, not quite so simple, went from 14" 5J 35 offset rims, wearing 165/60 tyres, to 13" 5.5J 30 offset rims and 185/60 tyres.

Better ride, better grip, better traction, better braking, better handling (wider track), lighter wheels and cheaper tyres. :p

All my cars have 14s. The Alfas are 195/60 tyres, with the Golf on some rather sticky 185/60 Yokos :-)

I'd like Yokos on the Supra, but they're not cheap in 225/50/16 fitment...

My TR7v8 has oversized 15 inch ones with low profile tyres, plus an original set of 13 inch on regular tyres, blimey eh?

Yes, but that's a BL car from a time when the cooking models trotted about on 10" wheels with rubber cones for suspension :P

Oh, and TR7 V8. Nice.

Mine does.

I think they look ok. I had 18" wheels on the GTR and they made the ride hard as shit. I have 16" on the WRX and it rides nice and tyres are heaps cheaper.

Wanna buy one? I know of one possibly for sale. Or possibly being turned into a stage rally beastie if my mate ever makes up his mind!

I'm vain, so it'd have to be a nice TR8 copy - DHC, V8 and no bodykit. Not a fan of the turret-top TR7 body shape for my own tastes, but I still like a good wedge no matter how badly-proportioned ;)

Pah, now if you're gonna have a TR7 V8, it's got to be a replica of the Tony Pond one. Noise out of that thing still gets me frothing at the cheese-piece.

Dunno why, it's just a bit funky. Preferred it in Tarmac spec but couldn't be arsed with major googlage.
