Hello guys, Can someone plese briefly explain to me the output leads of a car's alternator, what do they connect to and what do each lead do? Also where's the circuit which controls the alternator to output more power when it's needed?
Thanks.

They're not all identical.
On most units, it's inside the alternator. Called a regulator.
If you'd give the make and model of the alternator it would be easier to be more specific.
It usually works like this:
You will ahve one high current output on a bolt type connection. Connect this to your battery.
There will be one or two other connections low current. What you need to do is get a 12v bulb, start the engine with the high current one connected, then on the low current outputes put this in series with the battery if you get the right one the engine note will drop as you energise the alternator. This one you then connect to your ignition. Usually you dont need to bother with other connections.
