How about a Nissan Stasia (I think that's how it's spelt) it's a single turbo version of the Skyline GTR engine in a big estate. (looks too square for my taste but they don't fetch as much as there better looking rivals)
Stasia? Nissan Stanza, perhaps? Don't know anything about them, but I've never seen one so they must be pretty rare, or completely unnoticeable.
I've always wanted a Nissan Cedric. I don't know anything about them either, but I like the name.
As for suggestions, I'll throw in: ~95(N) M3 (o.k., so it isn't bigger, but it is quicker) ~97(P) audi S6 ~98(S) Audi a8 4.2 Quattro (300 BHp 4.2 V8!! :)
Stop searching, forget those turbo'd dwarf-engines and think BIG! Open your eyes and there it is: ......... Porsche 928 S4, GT or GTS.
A 1989 S4 or GT is yours for about 5500 UKP. 320 non-turbo charged horses and V8 5 liter. You can go up to the 1995 GTS V8 5.4 liter. (350 Hp). They can be had in automatic or 5 speed gearbox.
One of the most underestimated Porsches of all times, beats me why but had no regrets taking advantage of it.
Build like a tank, drives like a rocket!

-black on black 1995 928 GTS 5 speed (among other toys)-
Both are showing their age now, and 10,000 on a 12 year old Vauxhall is madness !
Both have absolute loonatic running costs. Carlton's brake discs are a thousand quid for example (although obviously aftermarket will be much less) - ditto the clutch. The same also applies to the Galant, to some extent. The Legacy shares most things with the Impreza, so no problems there.
Do you know one performance car when it goes go wrong which isn't?
I've got 2 other performance cars: a Ford and a Honda. I rated the Honda mechanics and Porsche mechanics at the same height but no Ford-mechanic will ever touch my car again.
You want a money pit? Buy a performance car made by Ford, Opel, any main stream car maker. When they go wrong (read:after 5 years from new) every visit to the dealer will earn you a big bill, a car which ain't properly repaired and most likely with some extra damage caused by them.
Sorry, got the experience and scars which go with them.
Fair enough. I guess that is why I'm driving a 19 year old Saab, rather than an 8 year old Vauxhall/Ford.
I'm getting the most bang for buck I can, and outside the main dealers, the Specialist/Mechanics tend to be owners/enthusiasts for the cars, as well as working on them.
In addition to my previous criteria, I don't really NEED the space, I just like it.
Something like a Supra Turbo would be fine, but they're too much dosh. I don't really wanna spend more than £8K, and you can only pick up old shitbox Supras for that sort of money :/
