Calipers

Went to the Ford dealers today, got myself some new numberplate light housings (£8 each for an ounce of plastic, my advice is not to reverse into lamposts). Whilst I was there I asked how much new calipers would cost (thinking of upgrading to vented discs). The calipers were £110 (ish) each, new. I've had a look in Demontweeks and I could get AP Racing calipers for that kind of cash, and they've got AP Racing written on the side :P. Bloody mental.

Sounds resonable for brand new parts at main dealer prices? Whats the point you're making here? You can probably get none Ford ones, for vented disks for less than that.

Doki, you have to understand, upgrading your Ka, either by changing it completely or modifying it, is going to cost money, theres no way round this, if you can't accept this, you'll just have to put up with what you've got.

I expected to pay around that for the light housings, I know light clusters etc. are generally bloody expensive. I knew calipers would be around £100. If I do the brake upgrade, I'll most likely get calipers from a scrappy and get a seal kit.

Obviously. Just thought it was rather bizarre that AP calipers cost a bit less than Ford ones. I'd expected things to be the other way around.

I probably will get the calipers in a scrap yard, or get some second hand ones off ebay.
