You think so?

OK, maybe you could flog the engine for a profit, but don't expect to get it on the road. The rust rampantly.

Just as a quick reminder just how well an early Integrale can rust, here's a quick rundown of things that rusted on my two..

the top of the rear hatch the roof where it meets the rear hatch the front wings near the headlight the boot floor for the second time in two attempts the rear doors where the arches meet the complete roof the inner wings the front scuttle the rear strut tops the gutters

Then again, they were quite reliable. mine only used a few minor bits

rear diff carrier, 4 drive shafts, clutch each, cam belt, balancer shaft belt, speedo drive cable, heater matrix, crank, cv joints, steering rack, radiator, alternator, that stupid long bolt that holds the alternators on older Fiat engines...

If you budget for around £200 per 1000 miles in repairs, you'll love it. £300 for the 16v.

Yeah, but this is rob after all.

It'd be like me posting that I'd found a Jaguar XJ-C V12 in mint condition in a barn for £50, just needed a radiator to fix.

Except, you'd probably believe me.

Did I mention the guitar I bought last week? Some knackered old electric thing, scruffy and black - turned out to be a 1981 vintage Kramer Voyarger Special, strathead (rarerare) with original Schaller 'Hot Stuff' blade humbucker and Gotoh Chevron tuners. Dunno what it's worth, but "more than £50" is somewhat assured, since the tuners are worth that alone and the serial plate is worth $40.

Hey richard

if you wanna be pedantic about it and can be arsed checking your more than welcome to e-mail me for the address of where the car is currently

bloke also offered me a cheap rover 800 turbo too :)

so instead of lambasting me why dont you come up or get someone up this neck of the woods to come see

put up or shut up

Aww, did I hurt your feelings, Rob?

A Rover 800 turbo would have to be cheap. VERY cheap. FWIW, I'm sure there is a rotten Lancia under a sheet; around here I found a mint Citroen SM, four CX25 GTIs, two Lancia Gamma Coupes, an Audi 100 Coupe (the one like an Aston Martin clone), and I know all sorts of weird hardware lurks in the Borders.

It's simply that your plans in the past have been somewhat... ambitious. This is that sort of plan. Unless you're going to remove all the 4wd hardware and the engine and put it in a Nova?

nope

the nova should be going soon

had its best days i'm afraid and the tin worm is getting a bit out of control even for my trusty mig to get on top of

as for the grale its in a sorry way but nothing a bit of tlc cant sort out

but your more than welcome to come looksy with me hell i could do with a neutral opinion for that matter :)

anyways as to 4x4'ing the nova why bother :) i'm going on my hols to france this year to hunt for a axgt 4x4 :) rare but their out there any dropping a mi16 in gen :)

Hang on.

You think the rust in the Nova is getting beyond control and you think you can sort an Integrale?

Bwahahahahahaha!

Aside from the fact that an Integrale can rust in places you've never even thought about looking for rust, there's also the small matter of panels being made from pure unobtanium.

How about a picture of it?

Or maybe it's another one of your fantasy cars?

I'm a bit late in joining in the Rob-bashing, but it seems to be the latest trend, and a bit of a laugh, so why not? :-)

Anyway, here goes:

How the f*ck do you expect to get 1200 for an old Nova that's rotting from bumper to bumper????!!!!

:o) nah I was just trying to understand the concept of a nova worth more than my TV ;o) just can't get my head round it.

Also can't get the idea of people thinking the c20xe engine is a good one ;o)

Any nova, imaginary or otherwise, is still a shitbox :o)

:o| i've proof read this post :o|

I've been around a track as a passenger in a Vx redtop powered Locost, but then it did weigh around 650Kgs (around half that was the engine though) ;)

Maybe I didn't select my words carefully enough.

A redtop engine does not make a nova good, or even very fast :o)
