Clutching onto ones youth...

I've been having a bit of a sort out here today, dumping anything worthless we don't want down the tip, and working out what anything remotely of value would be worth sticking up for.

So... amongst a veritable pile of old s**te is all my ICE - my sub, my amp and various component speakers that I've built up over time but not felt inclined to use in anything that I've owned of late.

I'm "too old for all this now", and "I don't want the grief of installing it and it taking up boot space" you see... or so I kept telling myself as I foraged around on the net for an idea of what it's all likely to fetch.

And you know what?

As I typed out the ads for it all, even though I'm not likely to use it in the near future, I just couldn't bring myself to advertise it.

"I'll regret it".

Sad eh...

My son will be 17 in just over a couple of years. Maybe he'll use it all in his first car... that is if the midlife crisis hasn't kicked in by then... heh.

What you need to do is, if you have enough kit, or enough to only need to buy a fe extra bits is, find your self a couple of identical cars, and challenge each other to build the better install from what ever kit you have. He can have the better finished or better sounding installed car. You flog the other on Ebay to a maxer chav.

Bit of father son bonding shit, and his first car already sounds the monkey's danglers, even if it is a 1.1 something or lowly 1.4 turbo derv.

years. Maybe he'll use it

At the mo, assuming the SO doesn't trash it in the meantime once she's got through her test, I'm hoping to pass the KA down to him.

It drives so well, given the clean bill of health it got whilst up on the ramp when I changed the sump and full exhaust a couple of weeks ago, I can't see it not being around for then.

Well, time to build a father and son audio install. Remember, it is all about fibreglass and milkshake this time. MDF and carpet is so last century.

Apart from the fact that he probably won't have any old 78s to use on it.

I binned that part of the set up ages ago; I found the sub made it jump too much.
