E30 2.7 lumps

anyone know the make up of a decent 2.7 lump?

as far as i understand its a mix of 320/323 parts anyone advise?

Do a search under 525E E28.

That's a 'small block' long stroke 2.7 engine.

And not particularly appropriate in an E30..... works nicely in the 525e with slushbox, though.

I assume Alpina bored out the 2.5 to make their 2.7s.

The tastier E30 conversion is an M50 2.5 lump from an E34 or if funds permit, an M52 2.8. It's a bit of fun and games on the plumbing and electrics but Christ what a performer. As for your original query, contact John Burns, _the_ authority on older BMWs this side of the pond.
