Fiat Coupe: Very quick, well mannered when you're not 'aving it large and surprisingly comfy - had more room in the back than I thought it would too.
Didn't drive it long enough to work out how horrendous the MPG is when you're ragging it, but the mate who's borrowed it for the week will let me know once he's finished burning the current tank of fuel off.
Civic Type R: Not quite as quick, (but still pretty impressive off the mark for a 2.0 NA, if not so impressive at motorway speeds), and whilst a much more practical body style, the ultra firm ride / hair trigger throttle made for something I'd never feel that happy with the only car I had at my disposal.
Cheapo looking dash materials which didn't appear to be soft touch, and no arse massaging seats either! ;-)
I'd probably have jumped at the chance of a Type R ten years ago when I was a bit more 'focussed' in my driving style, but if I had to pick between the two these days I'd go with the Coupe every time... assuming I could find one that didn't need a cambelt change imminently. ;-)
