FS: Fiat Marea HLX 20v

Some of you may already know, but I have just accepted a job with a company car, so..... the Marea has to go.

Here's the details:

1997R 72k miles FSH, including documented cambelt change at main dealer on 38k miles (So there's 29k miles before the next one is due) Really nice condition - being picky, there's a small crack on the upper surface of the rear bumper, and one or two stone chips and scratches. Interior is almost immaculate. Electric windows all round, electric sunroof, 6 speaker stereo. Recently it's had a full set of Goodyear NCT5s. MOT due mid November.

Good stuff: Sounds fantasic, goes well, handles well.

Bad stuff: Could do with anti-roll bar drop-links replacing. (About 20 quid in parts plus 1/2 hour each side to fit - I haven't bothered, the knocking over bumps is irritating, but not critical to fix) The colour - I beleive it's known as 'Jewish racing gold'.

To be honest, I don't really want to sell it, but I can't have a company Passat, the 75 the 156 and a Marea kicking around outside the house.

The car owes me just over a grand - taking into account purchase price and the recent tyres.

I'm probably going to stick it on Autotrader for £795, and it'll go on ebay, too.

If someone I know from here were to offer me something quite a bit less than that, but not a piss-taking offer, and could take it away quickly, then I'd let it go...... email me if you fancy chancing an offer!

(PeteM has seen it, JackH has had a ride in it - both can confirm it's a bloody decent car for sod all cash)

Caerphilly, in South Wales.

Easy to get to by train - and you don't have to pay to get out of Wales on the Severn Bridge ;-)

Bad news: it's a Fiat Marea! Good news: it's owned by a guy who's bonkers about spaghetti motoring...

Smuggling cars out of Wales, as I call it! ;-)

Yes, this is bad, I admit. However, it does allow one to buy a low mileage, not too ancient car, with decent performance for sod-all cash.

This is indeed very good, 'cos I can sniff out a dodgy one from 10 paces, so you know if you buy this one, you've got a good one :-p

Heh. You have to job hop to get on.

I'd never have got this type of job through internal promotion.

I think you might be right. I've been here 3 years now, wonder what kind of amazing job I could get if I left.

Oh I forgot I'm going RTW then intend to set up my own business when I get back! That way I'm promoted to Director immediately.
