Hello chaps.
Been lurking around on this newsgroup now for a few years, i may have posted occasionally but nothing memorable sadly! So, hello to everyone *waves*
I chucked some pictures of my two cars onto the URCM gallery, and my last saxo which met an unexpected end one sunny June afternoon. I notice people have already started baiting the VTR, so thanks very much for that :P
Anyway, I have a problematic fiesta also and am seeking some advice from your most knowledgable brows. It's been fettled about by none other than Mr. David Bolton who i remember used to post here quite frequently, and his parter in crime Robert is still here in spirit if not wit and wisdom? :)
Basically, it wont start, it started fine getting it onto the trailer but ive had no luck since. Ive so far checked and cleaned the plugs and leads, dizzy cap and arm, air filter, sprayed wd40 down the carb. Seems to be firing once or twice when turning over but never looks likely to catch. Hence, I'm guessing its a fuel problem. (guessing has proved to take a large part of my time with the car as i haven't got round to purchasing a haynes manual. also i dont live at the address where the car is stored so i have little time to work on it)
Fuel is delivered via a tricksy little 2 gallon alloy tank sitting in the cabin, and is delivered through lines in the car to the fuel filter (i think). I can hear fuel sloshing back though the lines after every failed start attempt so i know its moving through, but i'm definately lacking knowledge of the whereabouts of my fuel pump - i dont quite see how its being delivered though to the carb.
I'm running out of ideas for the wee thing. short of a mallet. any help is appreciated - though you'll probably need to try and coax some relevant information out of me first!
thanks,
Ren
